More Than a Place to Stay 

IMAS Boarding House is a small, close-knit community of not more than 150 boarders from diverse countries such as Malaysia, China, India, Bangladesh and Middle Eastern countries. IMAS Boarding provides learners with a supportive environment and a diverse programme of activities, pastoral care and academic support. A nurturing and supportive environment, led by the Boarding House Master, is our promise to every boarder. Each floor is home to a resident Matron who oversees pastoral and social welfare needs of a boarder, along with resident tutors who provide academic guidance and homework support. With care and respect as part of our philosophy, boarders can count on us to be there for them every time.

All IMAS International School learners aged between 12 and 18 years are welcomed to stay with us and find their room to grow.

Boarding Activities 

Our activity program is designed to provide boarders with enjoyable and distinctive experiences that foster essential life skills, particularly leadership abilities and collaborative teamwork. These programs are structured to broaden our students' global perspective while enriching their educational journey beyond traditional classroom learning. In contrast to other residential institutions, our boarding activities maintain consistency and thoughtful planning to deliver a comprehensive experience that includes visits to heritage sites, entertainment venues, educational centers, and participation in charitable initiatives and community outreach programs. Greater life experiences lead to enhanced life skills. We are committed to the belief that holistic education must encompass creative, physical, and ethical development. This is why the experiential learning opportunities at IMAS Boarding House function as a foundation for individual growth and self-discovery. Every day offers structured activities that naturally cultivate essential life skills including self-reliance, accountability, and cooperation, alongside social interaction and critical thinking abilities. Through these experiences, boarders develop lasting bonds with peers who share similar values, all within a secure and nurturing environment. 

Boarders' experiences include

• ​After-school programs featuring participation in competitive sports teams and leadership roles as team coordinators
• Weekend excursions including tenpin bowling, water sports, aquatic activities, and cycling adventures
• Student leadership opportunities such as serving on the Student Boarding Council to coordinate events, celebrating peers' special occasions, or providing academic assistance
• Structured homework periods conducted each evening for individual tutoring support or independent learning
• Service learning projects scheduled weekly on Sundays featuring environmental initiatives, horticultural work, or support at local care facilities
• Leisure and wellness programs in shared spaces that build community bonds through strategic games, table sports, billiards, culinary activities, mindfulness practices, creative arts, relaxation techniques, artistic expression and additional pursuits
• Daily life skills training including personal space maintenance, clothing care, and other essential responsibilities
